Air & Water Purity

Depending on where you live, your tap water might be slightly polluted or very polluted. A recent news article stated that drugs had been found in some municipal water supplies. Even if you don't mind what might be in the tap, you might not like the taste.

Between work and home, people tend to spend roughly 90% of their time indoors. It stands to reason that indoor air quality would be a concern. Those who need clean air the most - children, people with illnesses, the elderly - spend even more time inside. Because of time spent indoors and a host of other factors, inside air can be worse for your health than outside air.

There are two purposes for this page - to give you options to clean your inside air and water and give you tips on how not to further pollute outside water and air.

Promolife specializes in carrying a wide variety of air purifiers and water purifiers.

Keeping water clean

Here are some little things you can do to avoid polluting local water:

1. Use cleaners, washers and detergents that pollute as little as possible. For example, buy detergents that are eco friendly, use biodegradeable products and buy washing powders with as little phosphates as possible.

2. Use vinegar to wash the toilet instead of caustic products. Try it, you may be surprised. Vinegar is a great cleaner.

3. Do not pour toxic material into the sink, sewer or any water duct.

4. Dispose of motor oil, pesticides, trash and other substances in the recommended fashion. Don't just pour them on the ground or in a hole.

5. Do not throw garbage in the toilet.

Keeping the air clean

There are a lot of simple things you can do to reduce your impact on the air.

1. Turn of appliances and lights when you're not in the room to reduce emissions.

2. Recycle. This reduces production emissions.

3. Keep stoves and fireplaces maintained. Use an EPA-certified stove if you can.

4. Buy green electricity if it is available in your area.

5. Use solar lighting outside or motion control lights so they only need to be on when needed.

6. Use low VOC or water-based paints, paint stripper, finishes and stains.

7. Test your home for radon gas. (Radon Detector) If you show high levels you can fix the problem.

8. Not smoking inside will cut down indoor pollution to a great degree.

9. Kep tires properly aligned and inflated.

10. Fill your gas tank during cooler hours to reduce evaporation.

11. If there's a long line at the drive-through, park and go in to save energy and reduce pollution.

12. Use public transportation when possible.

13. Keep your car maintained.

14. Use an energy conserving motor oil.

15. Telecommute if possible.

16. Use a carpool system if you can.
